In a recent market analysis, CNBC's Jim Cramer made a compelling argument for investing in Procter & Gamble (PG) stock. He highlighted the distinction between consumer giants like PG, which leverage new technology, and tech hyperscalers that invest heavily in AI to stay competitive.
Cramer believes that business-to-business technology users are the real winners in today's market. These companies, he says, will have access to cutting-edge tech that will revolutionize their operations, helping them reduce costs and bring innovative products to market faster than ever before.
Procter & Gamble, with its diverse portfolio of household and hygiene brands, has already embraced AI to optimize its supply chain and factory design, resulting in significant cost savings. Cramer sees this as a strong indicator of the company's future potential.
"In this unpredictable market, it's the users of technology that will thrive, not the creators," Cramer asserts. With a 13% decline in stock price for the year, PG is trading at a reasonable 20 times earnings, and its dividend offers a healthy 2.91% yield.
While Cramer isn't advocating a complete abandonment of tech stocks, he does express reservations about the sector due to intensifying competition and massive spending. He singles out the Magnificent Seven (Nvidia, Microsoft, Meta, Apple, Alphabet, Amazon, and Tesla) as having experienced significant growth but now facing a pullback due to uncertain future prospects.
"These tech giants need to rein in their spending to advance further, but I'm not sure how they can achieve that," Cramer adds, leaving us with a thought-provoking question.
