A major setback has hit the proposed Fylde offshore wind farm, as the company behind it has withdrawn from the project. This news has sent shockwaves through the local community and raised questions about the future of sustainable energy initiatives in the region.

"This is a huge blow to our plans," Snowden said. "The cabling corridor, which was to connect Starr Gate near Blackpool Airport to Penwortham, now faces an uncertain future."
The proposed cabling corridor through Fylde, a joint venture between Morgan and Morecambe, is now in jeopardy. Snowden highlighted the financial viability concerns surrounding the Morecambe project, which may struggle to proceed independently.
"We are reaching out to Karen Buckley, the leader of Fylde Council, to urgently engage with the government and the companies involved. We need to understand the next steps and the implications for our local communities," Snowden added.
